OnCentreLine Dressage Annual Point Score Championships 2026 Official Rules

1. Championship Overview

The OnCentreLine Dressage Point Score Championships are designed to reward the dedication, consistency, and hard work of our riders throughout the year. The goal is to encourage a consistently high standard of performance while competing for the annual title and prize.

The competition period from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026.

2. Levels and Eligibility

A. Championship Levels

Championship titles will be awarded across six official levels:

  • Preparatory

  • Preliminary

  • Novice

  • Elementary

  • Medium

  • The Masters Choice (Adv to Grand Prix)

B. Horse and Rider Combination

Points are awarded exclusively to the horse and rider combination and are specific to the level in which they are earned. A rider competing a single horse in multiple levels must qualify separately for each championship title.

3. Point Allocation System

Points are accrued monthly and are awarded based on placement within each level's class results. The points system rewards the top 10 placements.

  • 1st Place: 10 Points

  • 2nd Place: 9 Points

  • 3rd Place: 8 Points

  • 4th Place: 7 Points

  • 5th Place: 6 Points

  • 6th Place: 5 Points

  • 7th Place: 4 Points

  • 8th Place: 3 Points

  • 9th Place: 2 Points

  • 10th Place: 1 Point

The more classes that a rider enters at the same level per competition, the more points they will get towards the championships (if they place within the top 10)

4. Determining the Champion

A. Final Score Calculation

The Champion in each level will be the combination that accumulates the highest total score from their best 10 months of competition. This rule allows riders to drop their two lowest-scoring months (or missed months) without penalty.

B. Tie-Breaker Rule

In the event of a tie in total accumulated points, the winner will be determined by the total number of tests entered over the 12-month period (rewarding participation between equally successful combinations).

5. Prize and Recognition

A. Champion Prize

The Champion of each of the six levels will receive a high-quality, custom-embroidered horse rug.

B. Embroidery Detail

The rug will be professionally embroidered with a personalized title, for example: OnCentreLine Dressage Preliminary Champion 2026.

C. Announcement

Winners will be announced in January 2027 via the OnCentreLine Dressage website and social media channels.

Wilma Sport 2026 OTTB Championship Section Rules

1. Eligibility & Entry

Eligibility: The horse must be a registered Off-The-Track Thoroughbred (OTTB) with proof of an official racing name.

Entry: To be eligible for the OTTB Championship pointscore, competitors must provide the horse's official racing name via the Nominate entry system when submitting their competition entry.

Participation: Entry into the OTTB Championship section is automatic upon providing the racing name when entering any class on the schedule for the designated competition months.

2. Championship Structure

The Championship title will be awarded based on a cumulative pointscore across four (4) designated competitions in the 2026 season.

The specific dates/months of these competitions will be announced via social media and the official schedule.

3. Competition Scoring System (Per Competition)

The unique pointscore for this section is based on the highest overall placing achieved by an eligible OTTB at each competition, regardless of the class or level entered.

Ranking Criterion: OTTBs will be ranked for the Championship pointscore solely on the basis of their best (lowest number) official placing achieved across any class on the schedule at that specific competition.

Example: If OTTB A achieved 1st place in the Preliminary class and OTTB B achieved 5th place in the Preparatory class (and these are their respective best placings), OTTB A would be ranked 1st and OTTB B would be ranked 2nd in the OTTB pointscore for that competition.

Tie-Breaker: In the event that two or more eligible OTTBs achieve the same highest placing (e.g., two different OTTBs both secured a 1st place in different classes):

The horse with the highest percentage score from that specific placing will be ranked higher in the OTTB pointscore.

4. Championship Points Allocation

Points will be allocated to the top-ranked OTTBs at each of the four designated competitions as follows:

1st Place: 10 points

2nd Place: 9 points

3rd Place: 8 points

4th Place: 7 points

5th Place: 6 points

6th Place: 5 points

7th Place: 4 points

8th Place: 3 points

9th Place: 2 points

10th Place: 1 point

The horse with the highest cumulative point total across the four events will be crowned the OnCentreLine Dressage OTTB Champion 2026, Sponsored by Wilma Sport.
